Hi, I’m Katie and I’m mum to three children; Etienne age 15, Amelie age 13 and Sophie age six. Before the birth of my first child in 2007, I had built a solid career in the financial services sector. But like many new mums, while I was on maternity leave, I had started to reflect on the direction that I wanted to take in my career and how that would fit around being a new parent. I started thinking about some sort of music session for mums and babies and put all the plans in motion. But just before my first class was about to launch, I decided to take a trip with my baby to a new Jiggy Wrigglers group that had just opened near to my home. Well, we loved it and I decided to approach the lady that ran the class, explaining my plans and offered her the chance to take the business to the next level.

That was back in 2008 and today, there are sessions all over the UK with an award-winning franchise system and a team of 50 people within the Jiggy Wrigglers network. I started franchising in 2011 and although we have grown, we have not lost the core values that were so important to me as a new mum such as friendliness, accessibility and fun, but now it’s on a much bigger scale. We’ve added new and exciting programmes for different age categories and refreshed the branding with four new characters forming the Jiggy family.

I’m so proud to be able to provide a space where new parents and their children can meet, have fun and get support. But I’m also very grateful for the franchise system that has allowed so many other parents to make the same leap as I did and leave the 9-5 to find a financial rewarding role as a Jiggy franchisee, that works around their family and brings them so much joy.
