Jiggy Wrigglers franchise has been lifechanging!
Meet Emma Johnson, franchisee of Jiggy Wrigglers Havant and Waterlooville who stepped away from her teaching career to launch her own business. In just over a year, Emma is earning more now than she ever did as a teacher, with her only regret that she should have done it sooner.
Background
I was a teacher for 15 years, specialising in the arts and running a youth theatre on the side for a little while. I loved doing it but when I got promoted at work, it was just too much to continue doing both, so I had to stop. I also have three children aged three, six and eight.
Why Jiggy Wrigglers?
When I left teaching, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do. I thought about retraining but when a friend suggested that I could be a leader for Jiggy Wrigglers, I thought I would give it a go with a view to maybe taking on a franchise if I enjoyed it. I was a leader for about seven months and during that time, I increased the number of classes and children. I could see how I could make this a very profitable business and I knew that it would be a very enjoyable sector to be in.
Growth to date
I bought into the business in December 2021 and had my first classes in January 2022. I created a business plan with a clear vision of wanting to increase the baby classes and the investment that I would need to make to ensure this happens. My research identified a gap in the market for this age group, so I was clear that this would be a great route for growth. In just a couple of months, I had increased the number of classes from ten to nineteen and had tripled the baby groups.
A lifechanging business
I now earn double of what I used to earn as a teacher, and I can work the hours that fit around my family and lifestyle. It’s totally up to me when I work, and I have achieved that balance of having a successful, financially rewarding career, and being there for the children.
The joy of running Jiggy’s
I love that even though we are a franchise, we can choose how we grow and what we want to do with the business. The Managing Director Katie is always there to support you and help with the vision and creativity. It’s wonderful being a business owner but having the comfort blanket of having an experienced franchisor behind you is very reassuring. I also really love what I do, I never have that Monday morning feeling of dread. Making babies and children smile and interact is a lovely way to spend your day and the parents and carers are also so thankful for what you do for the children.
